01
Choose a point of view
Write as a couple speaking to your guests. A short opening letter is often more inviting than a long biography. Decide whether your edition is playful, understated or documentary, then keep that voice consistent across the headlines and captions.
02
Build a front page around one photograph
Start with a portrait that carries the mood. Pair it with a brief headline and an introduction of two or three sentences. Save small group photographs for inside pages, where names and relationships can make the images meaningful to someone who was not there.
03
Mix the useful with the personal
For a handout, include a schedule, a welcome message and a short introduction to the people involved. For a keepsake, collect a few guest memories, a favorite reading and a note about an unexpected moment. Confirm every name, date and quotation yourself.
04
Proof one physical copy
Export your PDF and review every page. Ask your printer about accepted page sizes, margins, paper stock and whether a fold or bleed is required. LayoutFern exports pages; a print shop may need to arrange them into a folded booklet. Print a proof before ordering multiple copies.
A few practical questions
Can I make a wedding newspaper without paying?
Yes. Manual photo layout, text editing and PDF export are free in LayoutFern. Optional AI writing uses credits; you can write all the copy yourself.
Will AI know our names and wedding details?
No. A photo cannot reliably supply names, relationships or a schedule. Add accurate context yourself and review every generated line before printing.
Does LayoutFern print or deliver the newspaper?
No. LayoutFern creates a PDF. You can print it yourself or discuss the file and finishing requirements with an independent print shop.
